Amit Shah sets his sights on AP, to visit on Jan 9 VIJAYAWADA: The BJP state unit is gearing up for the arrival party chief Amit Shah on January 9, who is keen on strengthening the party, helping it acquire an identity of its own in the South, especially in Andhra Pradesh.
With the latest electoral gains in Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir in his kitty, the party chief will be drafting a strategy for the state BJP to emerge as a contender for power in the next election that too without depending on its ally -- the Telugu Desam Party.
Party leaders incharge of districts met here and discussed the progress of the party's membership enrolment drive. Party national leader CT Ravi addressed them on the importance of hastening the drive.
