34 Dy Collectors on land pooling mission HYDERABAD: To mark the beginning of the land pooling process in the new capital region of Andhra Pradesh, the state government deputed 34 deputy collectors from the revenue department to the municipal administration and urban development department to oversee the land procurement exercise in each village, identified for the construction of the new capital, near Vijayawada/Guntur.
The municipal administration and urban development department in a GO issued on Wednesday said, 'The revenue department is placing the services of some deputy collectors at the disposal of the municipal administration and urban development department to work with the AP Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) on deputation.' These officers would initially work for one year, the GO stated.
The municipal administration and urban development department designated all these officers as 'Competent Authority' for the purposes of Section IX and other related purposes of the APCRDA Act. Their services were placed at the disposal of the Guntur district collector so as to work in connection with the ongoing works of the AP Capital Region Development.
According to sources, these officers will supervise the land pooling activities in each village with a team of tahsildar, deputy tahsildar and surveyors by personally handing over notices to farmers, whose agricultural lands are earmarked for acquisition for the capital city. After convincing the landowners about land pooling, the officers will take consent letters from each farmer, the sources added.
'The Pay and allowances of these officers will be met from the annual budget of the municipal administration department during the deputation period,' the GO stated.
