Master plan of new capital in six months HYDERABAD: While stating that the new capital city of Andhra Pradesh would spread across 122 square kilometres whereas the AP Capital Region would extend up to 7,068 square kilometres, the State government announced that the draft 'Land Pooling Scheme' (LPS), which is nothing but master plan of the new capital, would be readied within 180 days from the day when the notification of intention to make the LPS is issued. That means the master plan for the new capital city will be released within six months from now.
The Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department notified the 'Rules for voluntary Land Pooling Scheme in the Capital City Area' by issuing a GO, which is named, 'AP Capital City Land Pooling Scheme (Formulation and Implementation) Rules 2015'.
'The government of AP has decided to establish a green field capital city as a liveable, environmentally sustainable and people's capital. For this purpose, the location of the capital was identified between Vijayawada and Guntur on the banks of the River Krishna and also to go for decentralised development of the State with 3 Mega cities and 14 smart cities,' the GO stated.
Besides reiterating the compensatory packages already announced by the government to the landowners, who will surrender their land for the new capital, the 'AP Capital City Land Pooling Scheme Rules 2015' specified the additional incentives to be given to them such as one time additional payment of `50,000 for gardens.
It will also provide pension of `2,500 a month per family for a period of 10 years to all landless families.
