Telugu man from Krishna dist shot dead in US VIJAYAWADA: In yet another attack on an Indian in the US, 45-year-old Parchuri Balagopal was shot dead by unspecified number of assailants in Myrtle Beach in South Carolina a couple of days ago, according to information reaching his native village Chitturpu in Ghantasala mandal in Krishna district.
The victim's relatives who live in Chitturpu received a phone call from Balagopal's friends that the assailants, whose intent was robbery, shot and killed him at his gas filling station and then fled the scene.
Balagopal, who went to the US about 15 years ago after completing his BTech, set up a gas station in South Carolina. His wife Soujanya, his children, one boy and one girl, live with them there. His parents - Bala Nageswara Rao and Krishna Kumari - who live in Chitturpu left for Arunachal Pradesh about 10 days ago to see their daughter.
The family members and his relatives have sought the help of the state government in bringing the body to his native village.
