Two mothers fight over new-born babies
NALGONDA: Tension gripped a hospital in Bhongir after a woman, who gave birth to a baby, alleged that her new-born was given over to another woman.
According to police, Kanakamahalakshmi of Yadagirigutta mandal and N Deepthi of Bhongir mandal had deliveries at the same hospital just half-an-hour apart.
Controversy erupted after Kanakamahalakshmi complained that her baby boy was handed over to Deepthi by the nurses. Both families entered into a heated argument and things came to such a pass that the police had to be called to the hospital.
Bhongir CI Satheesh Reddy, who visited the hospital for an on the spot inquiry, at last advised both the women to go in for a DNA test to settle the matter once and for all.
