Governor asks TS, AP to resolve EAMCET issue Hyderabad, Jan 3 (INN): Governor ESL Narasimhan has reportedly directed the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Governments to find an amicable solution to ongoing EAMCET row.
Participating in the meeting convened by the Governor at Raj Bhavan on Saturday evening, AP's education minister Ganta Srinivas Rao contended that APSCHE was empowered to conduct the EAMCET and other CETs as per the Andhra Pradesh State Reorganisation Act, 2014.
However, his Telangana counterpart G Jagadish Reddy said that Telangana State had right to conduct common entrance examination for its students and APSCHE should not encroach upon its right.
After hearing the version of ministers, Governor reportedly asked them to ensure that the controversy does not hurt the interest of students of both the States.
Since the meeting remained inconclusive, it has been decided to hold another meeting, if required, to resolve the issue. Speaking to media persons later, Ganta said that the Governor has assured to take an appropriate decision on the issue.
