KCR defends land regularisation drive Hyderabad, Jan 5 (INN): Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has strongly defended the State Government's decision to regularise the encroachments on government lands in Hyderabad.
Addressing a high-level review meeting at the State Secretariat here on Monday, the Chief Minister described the decision as 'wise' and 'liberal' and hoped that it would prevent encroachments in future.
He exhorted the people to regularise the encroachments within the stipulated time and warned of stern action under PD Act if they fail to abide by the new orders. He made it clear that there would be no extension or second phase of regularisation.
The Chief Minister said all encroachers would be evicted from government lands if they fail to regulaise their possessions now. He said that the encroachers should apply for regularisation within 20 days from December 30 (the date of issue of GO Ms 58 & 59) and directed the officials to complete the regularisation process within three months time.
