TS, AP to knock Delhi door over Eamcet HYDERABAD: After failing to find a solution even after the intervention of Governor ESL Narasimhan, the row over Eamcet between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh is all set to shift to Delhi.
Education Ministers of both AP and TS, who will be participating in the HRD Ministers' meeting in Delhi, are planning to meet Union Minister for Human Resource Development Smriti Irani to resolve the issue.
Apart from meeting the Union Minister, AP has also decided to file a petition in the High Court against TS government's GO No 32 on December 31. HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, after meeting Law Secretary and other key members of the AP State Higher Education Council, decided to take the legal battle against TS saying that GO 32 is one-sided. The petition would be filed after the Ministers return from Delhi, said an official of APSCHE.
Meanwhile, TS Education Minister G Jagadish Reddy, who has been insisting on a separate Eamcet to be conducted for both the States, said that there is no change in TS stand. On Monday, he met the Governor on the issue. Reddy reportedly had decided to put an end to the discussions and announce a separate schedule for Telangana after his return from Delhi.
Sources in the Telangana State Council for Higher Education said Reddy is most likely to make a special note to the Union Minister and seek support from the Central government for the implementation of AP Reorganisation Act.
