'Naidu should leave Hyderabad at earliest'

Hyderabad, Jan 8 (INN): Deputy CLP leader in Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir has advised Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to shift his base to AP's new capital area at the earliest.

Addressing a press conference in Assembly premises here on Thursday, Shabbir Ali accused Chandrababu Naidu for interfering in the affairs of Telangana State.

"He obstructed power supply to Telangana farmers during Khariff season causing huge losses which consequently led to suicide by hundreds of farmers. He also tried to deprive Telangana its share of water from Krishna River. Now he is trying to encroach upon Telangana's right to conduct EAMCET for its students," he said.

Asking the AP Chief Minister to leave Hyderabad as soon as possible, Shabbir Ali said Naidu should accept the reality that Andhra Pradesh has been bifurcated and now Telangana is an independent State.

Therefore, he should not try to sabotage the interest of Telangana. He said Naidu should start operating form the new capital area as it might develop that region.

Shabbir Ali said Naidu's regime has always proved to be a curse for the people of the State. During his previous rule for nine years, the then undivided Andhra Pradesh witnessed natural calamities and major accidents.

At least 1,058 people were killed in a severe cyclone that his AP coast in 1996. There was a severe drought and famine-like conditions that forced more than 3,000 farmers to commit suicide. Major roads accidents, train accidents and other tragedies were common during Naidu's rule.

This time too, the Congress leader said, Naidu's return to power proved unlucky for several people. While Chandrababu Naidu was taking on June 8, at least 25 people from the State, mostly students, were killed in Beas River tragedy in Himachal pradesh.

On June 27, as many as 15 people were killed due to GAIL pipeline blast in Nagaram village of East Godavari district. About 15 school children were injured when a lorry hit a school bus in Tirupati on September 24.

Similarly, on October 12, AP coast was hit by 'Hudhud', one of the most severe cyclone in the history, which claimed 61 lives and caused damage to properties worth Rs 21,908 crore. The recent incident occurred on Wednesday when 16 people, including 13 students, were killed when a bus fell into a gorge near Madakasira in Anantapur district.

Shabbir Ali said that some changes can be made in a house if there are defects in its Vaastu. But in case of a State, the only option is to change the Chief Minister.

He advised the TDP MLAs to replace Chandrababu Naidu as the Chief Minister. "Since NTR was the founder of TDP, his son and MLA Balakrishna can be made the Chief Minister to replace Naidu," he said.

When asked, the Congress leader said although the Telangana did not experience any major tragedies in the last eight months, the performance of TRS Government too was not satisfactory. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is too confused and have no clarity on major policies like the Water Grid.

Shabbir Ali also accepted the challenge by Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao for an open debate on the performance of TRS Government. He asked Harish Rao to decide the venue and time to have a debate on the status of promises made by the TRS in its election manifesto.
