Dy CM defends land regularisation drive Hyderabad, Jan 8 (INN): Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali on Thursday strongly defended the State Government's decision to regularise the encroachments on government lands in Hyderabad.
Speaking to media persons after holding a review meeting with the Stamps & Registration Department officials in his chambers at the State Secretariat, Mahmood Ali clarified that the government would regularise only the constructed properties where inmates could provide the proof of residence.
He said no open land would be regularised under the scheme. He dismissed the allegation by the opposition parties that they were not provided the data on encroachments in the twin cities.
He said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao conducted two all-party meetings and all opposition leaders were given complete data in pen drives. He said a help desk would be set up soon to help the beneficiaries.
The Deputy CM also informed that the Registration & Stamps had no offices of its own in the State. Therefore, it has been decided to construct 23 offices in Ranga Reddy district and five in Hyderabad. A decision on 4-5 more offices would be taken soon.
He said that some offices with heavy work load are being identified and soon they would be working in two shifts from 8 am to 1 pm and from 2 pm to 8 pm. He said some officials may also work on Sundays on the lines of Karnataka.
Mahmood Ali said that the government plans to provide training to MROs, RDOs and VROs and best performers among them would be given awards in recognition of their services. He said that the government proposes to reduce the Gift Deed Registration charges from 4% to 1%. Stating that there are 22 types of deeds, he said their registration would be simplified.
He also informed that said as many as 950 out of 4300 post offices have been finalised for the sale of stamp papers.
The Deputy CM also defended KCR's statement wherein he praised Last Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan. He said there was nothing wrong in admitting the reality and the Last Nizam has brought lot of development in Telangana.
