Naidu for Delhi on Monday HYDERABAD: As the Centre has begun the exercise of preparing the Union budget for the next financial year, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is planning to visit Delhi on January 12 to prevail upon the Central government to announce tax concessions and projects for the State in the budget.
Prior to his Delhi visit, Naidu has begun focusing his attention on finalising his government's wish list to be presented before the Union government. Proving this, when Union Minister of State for Commerce Nirmala Sitaraman called on him here, Naidu is learnt to have discussed with her tax incentives and funds to be extracted from the Centre for the State in the Union budget.
According to sources, the possibility of the Centre according Special Category Status to AP and release of Central funds required to build the new capital of the State also figured in the meeting.
'As the Centre is still adopting dillydallying approach on the issue of tax concessions to AP, Naidu wants clarity from the Centre on the issue. Because of Centre's continuous postponement of the matter, the AP government is not able to finalise its industrial policy. Hence, Naidu wants clarity from the Centre,' said the sources.
It is learnt that Nirmala Sitaraman assured Naidu that the Centre would sort out several long pending issues in the State very soon.
