Naidu hard sells AP at Australian investors meet


 
Hyderabad, Jan 12 (INN): Chief Minsiter N Chandrababu Naidu has participated in India-Australia Summit organised by CII held at Taj palace in New Delhi on Monday and addressed the gathering. While addressing 450 delegates he said that India and Australia share a strong and warm friendship based on multicultural democratic traditions and institutions.

Many similarities exist between India and Australia. The bilateral relationship of India and Australia has been growing in stature ever since India's embarked on its economic reforms process in the early nineties. And the relationship is now multifaceted and spans areas such as energy, mining, Science and Technology, Information Technology and education among others.

He said that the Australia has also proved to be an attractive destination for Indian companies. Indian companies have invested in sectors such as banking, IT, petroleum among others in Australia.

"After 25 years people have given a correct mandate and elected a government with absolute majority at center and now is the correct time give big boost to development and industrial growth in the country.

Because the Prime Minister has come from the people and he served as Chief Minster and he is having absolute knowledge about grass root level. The visit of PM to Australia has further strengthen the bilateral relations of both the countries," he said.

Naidu very confidently said that the Andhra Pradesh will be seen as pioneering state in development in all sectors by 2029. His government is going with a vision of 7 missions, 5 Grids and 4 campaigns. Since, it is the new state, Government of India will also announce special package to Andhra Pradesh very soon.

Hence, more investors will come forward to invest in Andhra Pradesh, he said. The state Government has announced Industrial policy and it could facilitate the investor to clear their proposals at single desk. Andhra Pradesh is having abundant Human resources and Natural resources and have wider scope for attracting more industries in to the state, he said.

Therefore, he said that it is the right time for Australian companies to look at India. Some of the areas that we can consider are energy, mining, resources, infrastructure, financial services, food security, agriculture, water management, education, tourism and health, technology and IT sector.

Taking this opportunity, Chandrababu Naidu has highlighted some of the key initiatives. The government is in the process of developing a Petroleum and Petrochemical Investment Region in between Visakhapatnam and Kakinada Region in an extent of 603 sq. kms. In the Chennai - Bangalore Industrial Corridor there is lot of scope for Mineral based Industries, Leather Training Industry, Automobile and Glass Industry he said.

While explaining about Visakhapatnam ' Chennai Industrial Corridor, he mentioned that it has the potential of attracting investment and it could benefit Petroleum, Steel, Fertilizer, Power, Minerals, Edible Oil Refineries, Automobile, Textiles, Cement, Chemical, Biotechnology and Food processing sectors.

He further mentioned that the New State of Andhra Pradesh is geared up to become the logistic hub for the country because of its strategic location advantages. The State is further expanding its Port infrastructure, Connectivity through Road, Rail and Air, besides industrial estates. The State provides immense investment opportunities for Australian players to partner with Andhra Pradesh.

Since, the State is having 950 Kms of coastline and availability of land hills of Eastern Ghats with wildlife and forests, biological diversity centers like Nallamalas, Sheachala and Sahyadri hill range, temples, Buddhist sites, and bird sanctuaries, these places have potential to attract greater investment in Temple Tourism, Eco Tourism, Adventure in Tourism sector.

The state enjoys a position of pre-eminence in respect of crop production. Andhra Pradesh is endowed with bountiful of natural resources, good fertile soil, diversified cropping patterns and major irrigation systems fed by perennial rivers. There is a mega opportunity in food processing in the state. We are promoting mega food parks for accelerating growth in the sector.

The textile and apparel industry is set to grow into a multi-billion dollar opportunity. Andhra Pradesh is the third largest cotton producer in the country. Government is aiming at promotion and developing a strong and vibrant Textile Industry in Handloom, Power loom, Textile and Apparel sectors.

Andhra Pradesh has trained and skilled manpower, research and development facilities. World-class 'Pharma City' at Parawada near Visakhapatnam with private sector participation in Pharma City. Andhra Pradesh is endowed with large number of mineral resources and it is called as a mineral store house.

The major minerals include Bauxite, Lime stone, Barytes, Sea sand, Quartz, oil and natural gas, Dolomite, Calcite, low grade iron ore etc. Based on these minerals, there is huge potential for Cement, Aluminum Refinery, Barium chemicals, Glass, Atomic Minerals, Steel and iron ore industries in the state.

The Chief Minister welcomed the Australian Government, Australian Industrialists and the Indian Diaspora in Australia to Partner with Andhra Pradesh and make it one of the best destination in the country.

Kambampati Ramamohan Rao, Special Representative, GoAP, CM Ramesh, Member of Parliament, Veena Ish, Resident Commissioner, Anil Singhal, OSD, AP Bhavan, SP Tucker, Spl Chief Secy - Planning & RD and SS Rawat, Prl. Secy ' Industries also participated along with the Chief Minister.

Before taking part in the India- Australia Business Summit, he had a meeting with delegation of led by Sri Jamie Briggs, Assistant Minister for Infrastructure and R.Colbek, Parliamentary Secretary for Agriculture, Senator on IT, E-water Management, Infrastructure development, Skill development and HR management.

And also had a separate meeting with the Trade and Investment Minister of Australia, Andrew Robb. The chief Minister has explained about the opportunities in Andhra Pradesh for industrial establishment in IT, Tourism, Infra, Logistics and other allied fields.
