KCR backs Ramoji, says no irregularities in film city WARANGAL: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao made it clear that he did not make any comments against Ramoji Film City with regard to alleged encroachment of government land or assigned land by industrialist Ramoji Rao.
The Chief Minister clarified that Ramoji Rao had not encroached upon any land. 'There was no 'gunta' of assigned land in the Ramoji Film City,' he said. When asked why he had not taken any action against Ramoji Film City as in the past, he had said he would plough it once Telangana was formed, the Chief Minister denied ever making such comments.
'In fact, I supported Ramoji Rao when the then chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy troubled him,' he stressed, adding that Ramoji Rao had purchased every inch of the land and there was no role of the government in acquiring the said land.
Chandrasekhar Rao also said that his government was ready to roll out a red carpet welcome if anyone wants to make an investment in the State.
'Ramoji Rao is investing Rs.4,000 crore on 'Om City' project. Once it is completed, nearly one lakh people will visit the place per day,' he pointed out and said such people (industrialists like Ramoji Rao) should be encouraged instead of going to Singapore and the United States with a plea for investments.
