By-poll for Tirupati on Feb 13
Hyderabad, Jan 12 (INN): The Election Commission of India on Monday announced the schedule for by-elections for the Tirupati assembly constituency in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.
The notification for by-polls will be issued on January 19 while the last date for filing of nomination will be January 27. The nominations will be scrutinised on January 28 and the last date for withdrawal of candidature will be January 30.
The polling will be on February 13 and the counting of votes will take place on February 16. By-elections for Tirupathi seat got necessitated due to the death of sitting MLA M Venakataramana of TDP on December 15.
