Parakala rubbishes YSRC charge over Chandranna Kanuka TIRUPATI: Refuting the allegations being leveled against the 'Chandranna Sankranthi Kanuka', as part of which a gift pack of six commodities is being distributed to the poor families free of cost ahead of 'Sankranthi', communication adviser to AP government Parakala Prabhakar challenged those making the corruption charges with regard to the purchase of the commodities to prove the same.
Reiterating that the distribution of the gift packs to all the white ration cardholders across the state will be completed today, he maintained that the government saved Rs.31 crore and Rs.71 crore respectively when compared to the present market and online marketing prices of the six commodities included in the gift pack.
Parakala told newsmen here that the government procured 19.10 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of paddy so far. The government will also upload the details of paddy procurement on the website of the civil supplies department to ensure transparency, he explained.
