KCR to visit Gulf countries on Jan 17, 18 HYDERABAD: Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is all set to tour Gulf countries on January 17 and 18 to lure investments to the state.
According to sources, Rao will be accompanied by a team of officials. Recently, panchayat raj minister KT Rama Rao has visited Gulf countries to explain the salient features of the new industrial policy of the government.
During Rama Rao's visit, some market majors like the Lulu group have evinced interest to invest in Telangana. The chief minister wants to pursue the agenda to ensure that the group invests in the state.
Sources also said that Rao and agriculture minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy would tour Israel in February. They will attend an agricultural conference and study the drip irrigation system there for adoption in Telangana.
Meanwhile, Kadir Topbas, mayor of Istanbul in Turkey called on the chief minister at the Secretariat. Topbas invited Rao to visit Istanbul.
He informed the chief minister that they were opening Turkey consulate office in Hyderabad in February. Kadir hoped that the relations between Telangana government and Turkey would foster in future.
