Arasavilli spruced up for Ratha Saptami festival SRIKAKULAM: The much-awaited Ratha Saptami at the famous Sri Suryanarayana Swamy temple at Arasavilli will be celebrated on January 26. The sale of tickets for darshan will commence on January 25 night, at special counters to be set up at the Old Bus Station and Kazipeta near the Pushkarini.
At the meeting held to review the arrangements for the festival here Monday, the temple coordination committee members announced that all arrangements were being made for hassle-free darshan and urged the devotees to cooperate with the temple authorities.
The coordination committee members discussed the arrangements in place for queue lines, drinking water and toilets apart from footwear stands and other stalls.
The officials stated that excluding VIP vehicles, no private vehicle will be allowed into Arasavilli village during the celebrations.
Devotees will have to depend on APSRTC buses. Fifty local services will be operated from various parts of Srikakulam district in addition to 50 special buses from Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram.
A huge number of police personnel will be deployed to ensure safety and security of the devotees apart from streamlining the rush at the queue lines.
The temple priests said that the rituals would commence with the Suprabhata Seva at 12.15 am on January 26 and will conclude with the Ekantha Seva at 9 pm on the same day.
MLA Gunda Lakshmi Devi, committee president and revenue divisional officer B Dayanidhi, deputy superintendents of police K Bhargava Rao Naidu and P Srinivasa Rao, assistant commissioner of Endowments V Syamala, temple executive officer R Pushpanadham and other officials were present.
