Naidu's retrograde remarks flayed

Hyderabad, Jan 20: Taking strong objection to the maverick remarks of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu that couples should go for more number of children and likening NTR statue to that of Lord Venkateswara, YSR Congress has said such comments are insane and unbecoming of the responsible position he holds.

'Asking young couples to have more number of children goes against the development process of the nation and is a retrograde step putting the clock of development backwards by more than a century,' party spokesperson Ambati Rambabu told reporters her e on Tuesday.

The remarks coming from a person who is boasting of building a capital on the lines of Japan and other developed nations has stunned the nation. The Chief Minister telling that giving birth to more number of children will increase the youth power and turns the nation young is ridiculous, he said.

We have passed a legislation barring people having more than two children from contesting elections and have imposed many strictures if couples do not follow family planning. Contrary to the popular public view, Chandrababu Naidu asking young couples to have more children puts his levels of sanity under scanner.

Prime Minister has told from the ramparts of the Red Fort that majority of the people in the country have no access to sanitation and the UNICEF report has mentioned that one in every three children in India is affected by malnutrition.

Going against the tide, Chandrababu Naidu stating that couples should have more number of children shows that he has lost his mental balance and such move will take the country backwards by at least a century, he said and appealed to the youth to ignore such irresponsible suggestions.

Farmers are already in trouble as they believed him that he would waive all agriculture loans and those in the capital area are bearing the brunt of his anti-people policies. This suggestion which adds to population explosion goes against the development process, he said.

Chandrababu Naidu comparing the statue of NTR to Lord Venkateswara is atrocious as the issue of divinity and its sanctity are under question. We are not against NTR and his popularity, it was Chandrababu Naidu who has usurped Party and power from him and was responsible for the trauma to the TDP founder leader's death.

'While he was alive Chandrababu Naidu has belittled NTR and his family members and after his death he is praising NTR which shows the double standards. The objection is comparing anyone with God which would hurt the sentiments of people,' he said.

Chandrababu Naidu, who speaks of modern technology, turning superstitious and blatantly exhibiting it, makes him a laughing stock. With the talk that anyone holding a function at Nagarjuna University will lose power has forced him to change the venue of Science Congress to Vijayawada. Superstition and Science never go together.

Chief Minister has turned to Vastu and opted for Thulluru mandal as capital which will be badly affecting the farmers and agriculture yield in the State, he said.
