Dattatreyya assures Centre's help to tackle Swine Flu Hyderabad, Jan 21 (INN): Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreyya on Wednesday claimed that the Union Government was monitoring the situation arisen due to seasonal influenza-A H1N1, the Pandemic 2009 Virus situation which is circulating in Telangana State and is in touch with the State Government to provide technical guidance and support.
Addressing a press conference here, Dattatreyya informed that he had spoken several times to Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda since morning today.
He also spoke to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Deputy CM Dr T Rajaiah and assured all help from the Union Government. He said that the Union Health Minister, after reviewing the situation with senior officials at New Delhi today deputed a team of Senior Officers comprising of Dr Ashok Kumar, Addl DG, Dr Shashi Khare, Addl Director, National Centre for Disease Control, Delhi and Dr Pradeep Khasnobis, Programme Officer for Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, who will arriving Hyderabad today itself to review the availability of medicines and diagnostics, arrangements at hospitals, clustering of cases, preventive measures and IEC campaign, surveillance by IDSP, sufficiency of lab facility etc., for the State.
Dattatreyya said that the Union Government would continue to monitor the situation on hourly basis.
