Instalment scheme for land regularisation HYDERABAD: With the land regularisation scheme not evoking the desired response, particularly for plots above 125 sq yards, the State government tweaked it a bit, offering applicants the benefit of fee payment in installments and cut the hefty rates too.
The Cabinet decision, coming exactly a month after the launch of the scheme, was taken, keeping in view public representations seeking 'reconsideration of rates and payment schedule.'
As per a GO (Ms 12) issued soon after the Cabinet decision, government rates, payable for regularisation of a dwelling constructed on a government land, can be paid in five instalments before Dec 31 this year. And, those who want to pay the entire amount at one go will be given five per cent concession.
Besides, as per the revised GO, BPL families living in a dwelling over an extent of 125 sq yards up to 150 sq yards in notified slums can get the land regularised at 10 per cent of the basic value. Those living in non-notified slums have to pay 25 per cent of the basic value. The rates applicable are as on June 2, 2014.
The government held consultations and reviewed the stipulations at a high-level meeting on Thursday before taking a final decision. Now, an applicant can pay 25 % of total payable amount for consideration of the application in two equal instalments. The first must be paid on or before Feb 28 and the second on or before April 15.
The remaining can be paid in three equal instalments. The third must be paid on or before July 30, fourth on or before Sept 30 and the final instalment on or before Dec 31. Those who fail to regularise their land within the stipulated time will be evicted immediately as per law, the government order said.
