Naidu wants to complete Swine Flu tests within 5 hours Hyderabad, Feb 3 (INN): Reviewing the situation of Swine flu in the state, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu asked officials to submit a report within 24 hours.
The Chief Minister said that he wanted details of areas where the H1N1 virus is prevalent, the reasons for spreading of Swine flu and the severity of the situation.
Asking officials to take preventive measures, the Chief Minister suggested that those detected with Swine Flu should be given treatment immediately.
Medical tests have to be conducted within 5-6 hours, he said, adding that this would enable doctors to start treatment at the earliest. Of the 79 people who have got admitted, 37 have been tested positive for Swine Flu.
The Chief Minister said that officials should submit a daily report to him on the number of detected with the virus. He added that these details should also be uploaded online on the health department's dashboard.
One of the officials informed the Chief Minister that only one out of 9 admitted in Visakhapatnam Chest hospital tested positive for Swine Flu.
Giving a word of caution to senior citizens and children, he said that they should be careful about their surroundings. 'People don't have to panic. If a person if tested positive, the entire family will be given medication,' the Chief Minister added.
Minister Kamineni Srinivas, principal secretary to CM Ajay Sawhney, principal secretary (health) L.V. Subramaniam, Care hospital CMD Somaraju and other advisory committee members were present.
