TRS ridicules Ponnala's criticisism on KCR Hyderabad, Feb 4 (INN): TRS MLC Karne Prabhakar on Wednesday alleged that TPCC president Ponnala Lakshmaiah has been criticising Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao only to save his post in the Congress party.
Speaking to media persons in the TRS Legislature Party office here, Prabhakar alleged that Ponnala has been desperately trying to hit headlines to ensure that he remains in limelight and does not lose the position of TPCC President. Stating that KCR has been taking all steps only to develop Telangana State, he alleged that the Congress and TDP were criticsing the Chief Minister only to register their presence.
Justifying the decision to shift State Secretariat, Prabhakar said that the decision was taken in view of paucity of space and congestion in the present government office. He said the location of HOD offices at different places was creating difficulties in movement of inter-department files. Therefore, KCR took a wise decision to take the Secretariat to a new building along with offices of all HODs.
Prabhakar said before linking's KCR decisions with the land mafia, the Congress party should do introspection and explain as to why it sold away prime properties in the city during its regime. He alleged that Ponnala was involved in large scale irregularities in the implementation of Jalayagnum projects during his stint as Irrigation Minister.
The TRS MLC also slammed Telangana TDP leaders for submitting a memorandum to Governor ESL Narasimhan against Deputy CM Kadiam Srihari. He said the TDP leaders never questioned the caste of Kadiam Srihari when he was with the TDP. However, they started making personal and false allegations after he assumed the post of Deputy CM. He alleged that the Telangana TDP leaders were just acting as pawns into the hands of Andhra leaders. He urged them to stage a dharna before the residence of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who, he alleged is responsible for the present power crisis in Telangana State.
