AP to complain against Governor to centre HYDERABAD: With the Telangana government refusing to budge from its stand on key issues like common entrance tests, the Andhra Pradesh government seems to have decided to pin the blame for the same on Governor ESL Narasimhan.
AP Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishnamurthy told reporters, 'The Governor has been a mute spectator to issues that affect the interests of AP. We are planning to take the issue to the notice of the Union government very soon.'
Citing an example of the Governor's 'failure', the minister recalled that Narasimhan had held talks with CMs of both the States for over 45 minutes on Jan 26 during the At Home function at the Raj Bhavan.
'Even after such lengthy discussions, the TS government stuck to its stand on all issues relating to the two States. What is the net result of the meeting organised by the Governor?' he questioned.
Pointing at the recent decision of TS CM K Chandrasekhar Rao to demolish some heritage structures such as the government-run Chest Hospital and other buildings, Krishnamurthy wondered, 'How can he formulate such proposals which affect interests of AP in the common capital? Narasimhan, being the common Governor of the two States, should veto these proposals to protect the interests of AP'.
Taking on KCR, he questioned how could the TS CM take decisions on heritage structures and the Secretariat in Hyderabad when the city is still the common capital.
'AP government has the legal right to avail all facilities in the city. How could the TS government bring down its secretariat building when the building shares its premises with that of the AP government?
It is not proper to resort to such steps when half of the premises is being occupied by the AP government's secretariat,' he said. Sources said AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu, during his visit to Delhi on Feb 6, will take up these issues with the Prime Minister.
