Visakhapatnam: The 18th Rozgar Mela, a flagship employment initiative of the Government of India, was held at 45 locations across the country, including Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. The event saw over 61,000 young Indians receive offer letters for government jobs, marking a significant step towards realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of empowering youth and driving national development.

In Visakhapatnam, Minister of State for Steel and Heavy Industries Bhupathi Raju Srinivasa Varma distributed offer letters to 392 candidates from various departments. Addressing the gathering, Varma emphasized India's demographic advantage, with the country being one of the youngest nations in the world. He highlighted the government's focus on creating employment opportunities and accelerating the recruitment process through "mission-mode" drives.
Prime Minister Modi addressed the Rozgar Mela via video conferencing, describing the appointment letters as an invitation to nation-building and a pledge to accelerate the creation of a developed India. He noted that many of the youth will strengthen national security, empower the education and healthcare ecosystem, reinforce financial services and energy security, and play a vital role in the growth of public sector enterprises.
Modi emphasized that connecting youth with skills and providing them employment and self-employment opportunities has been the priority of the government. He highlighted the success of the Rozgar Mela initiative, which has issued over 11 lakh recruitment letters since its inception.
The event was attended by senior officials from the CISF Unit, including IG S.R. Saravanan, DIG Dr. M.G. Raghavendra Kumar, and other dignitaries.
