ESIC will start two hospitals in city: Dattatreya


 
Hyderabad, Nov 2 (INN): Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya said that ESIC will start 6-bedded hospitals at Qutubhullapur (Jeedimetla) and Chikkadpally dispensaries which are having own buildings.

Speaking to the media here on Monday, after a review meeting with officials of various departments, the Union Minister said, "Wherever the dispensaries are located in rented buildings, the State Government should provide required space free of cost to build dispensaries by the ESI Corporation'. He stated that the ESI Corporation is contemplating to cover un-organized labor like auto drivers, rickshaw pullers, construction workers and cine workers under the ESI Scheme on pilot basis in Hyderabad.

Dattatreya told the endowments department officials to provide water facility other amenities to devotees. He also instructed them for landscape/greenery in and around all the temples to give a good look and ambiance. 'There are certain instances where the lands of temples are being encroached unauthorized for which machinery is to be set up to look into all such things', he said. The Hanuman temple at Khairtabad is facing acute shortage of water, he said. He also mentioned that the properties of the temples are to be protected from the undue influence of politicians.

Speaking on the city roads, he said that most of the roads in Hyderabad Secunderabad twin cities are very congested and the same need widening. The road from Hyderabad to Shameerpet, Hyderabad to Jubilee Hills requires much attention in widening the roads and also finding out shortest routes to avoid traffic jams. The Commissioner, GHMC and HMWSSB stated that to augment the water scarcity in the twin cities certain measures are being taken among which the Krishna water and Godavari water are being brought to the city through pipelines. Once this work is completed the scarcity of water will be overcome. Minister suggested them to check the possibilities to build two reservoirs, one at Prasasan Nagar and another at Venkatagiri, so that the water brought from the Krishna and Godavari rivers be stored.

Out of 27000 houses to be built for the poor people, 10,000 houses had been built and allotted to the beneficiaries. 7,000 houses will be completed within a couple of months and the identified beneficiaries will be allotted the same. As many as 10000 houses are yet to be built. Regarding Outer Ring road it was stated out of 158 kms, 138 kms stretch has been completed and remaining road will be completed by February 2017.

The Labour Minister has advised to complete the Radial work on the roads as an amount of Rs. 6,500 crores had already been sanctioned. He further said that he would do all the possible to lead the approvals from the authorities/departments concerned provided the proposals are submitted as per the rules laid down.

BJP floor leader Dr. K. Laxman, Khairtabad MLA Chintala Ramachandra Reddy, GHMC Commissioner Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy, Hyderabad District Collector Rahul Bojja, Ranga Reddy Collector M. Raghunandan Rao, Collector, Endowments Joint Commissioner Srinivasa Rao and HMDA Secretary Balaji Ranjit Prasad were present during the review meeting.
