Sathya Sai services guiding sprit for society: President

Visakhapatnam: President of India Droupadi Murmu said that Sri Sathya Saibaba's inspiring services with a motto of Service to mankind is service to God stands as a guiding spirit for society. She said that Satya Saibaba's devotees are following the path of service and offering services to under privileged across the world.

Participating as a chief guest for special programme organised here today on the occasion of Centenary celebrations of Sathya Saibaba, the President of India said the Government is taking steps to improve the lives of people and their skills and strengths should be harnessed for nation's development. She called for collective participation of spiritual organisations for the wellbeing of society. She said that Sathya Saibaba rendered services to people with a nation first policy and the Sathya Sai trust has been implementing several welfare programmes for women since 1969.

Earlier when the President of India arrived at Puttaparthi airport, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Minister Nara Lokesh and Satya Sai trust members welcomed her. She offered prayers at Sathya Saibaba Maha Samadhi at Sai Kulwant hall at Prasanthi Nilayam and lighted universal torch of peace.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said the world peace will become a reality if every individual, every institution and every nation follow the Bhagawan Sathya Sai's Sidhantam of Love all-Serve all and help ever-hurt never and Bhagawan's five principles of Satya, dharma, Shanti, Prema and Ahimsa. He said that he got an opportunity to work closely with Saibaba who got ready to even to mortgage his Prasanthi Nilayam to resolve the drinking water problem of Rayalaseema region. On knowing this devotees came forward to complete the drinking water project to supply safe drinking water to Rayalaseema, Telangana and Tamil Nadu regions. He said that the Sathya Sai trust with a strong team of more than 7.5 lakh Seva dal members rendering service to people across the globe.

After launching Sri Sathya Sai Tribal Women Health Care programme, the Chief Minister said that this initiative focuses on delivering health care both preventive and curative to tribal women. This scheme includes providing multi speciality medical care through telemedicine, medical screening for anaemia, breast and cervical cancer and making available safe drinking water. Describing the tribal women as conscience keepers of our cultivation, the Chief Minister said that they live in harmony with nature. He stressed the need for economic uplift of tribal women and stated that it is not just a service programme and it leads to nation building. He said everyone should become ambassador of peace by taking forward the message of peace and inspire people across the globe. He said if we take forward the Sai Sidhantam we will be able to achieve universal peace and happiness.
