Key reforms bring India closer to global standards, it says
Visakhapatnam: The CII Andhra Pradesh has welcomed Government of India's implementation of the Four Labour Codes, calling it a landmark step in strengthening India's labour ecosystem. The Codes, which came into effect this week, consolidate 29 existing labour laws into a unified framework, providing greater clarity, simplicity and significantly reduced compliance for enterprises, it said.
Key reforms such as universal minimum wages, time-bound wage payments and wider ESIC'EPFO coverage are expected to enhance worker welfare and bring India closer to global standards.
Murali Krishna Gannamani, Chairman of CII Andhra Pradesh stated, 'The four Labour Codes mark a significant moment in India's reform journey. By simplifying and updating our labour laws, the Government has taken a decisive step toward a more productive, fair and future ready workforce. CII welcomes this move and remains committed to supporting industry and state governments in implementing these reforms, so that India's workers and enterprises can grow together.'
He said from Andhra Pradesh's perspective higher take-home pay, portability of social security benefits, safer factories and a drastic reduction in compliance burden. Exactly the ecosystem investors have been asking for in every roadshow and the recently concluded CII Partnership Summit. The reforms have come at right time to achieve goals of Swarna Andhra 2046.

It offers a modern, predictable framework that boosts competitiveness while expanding social security and strengthening worker welfare. A truly progressive step for India and especially Andhra Pradesh which has recently attracted some of the leading global investments and have signed MoUs worth more than Rs 13.25 lakh crore at the CII Partnership Summit held earlier this month'.
