JC Diwakar Reddy hints at joining YSRC HYDERABAD: As the Congress leadership begins the exercise to send out former minister JC Diwakar Reddy from the party for belittling openly its prospects in the next elections in Seemandhra, the Anantapur leader, his son Pawan Kumar and his brother Prabhakar Reddy are contemplating to board YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's ship.
Though Diwakar Reddy was non-committal on joining the YSRC, his brother made it clear that they want to go into a party which has a long life, implying the YSRC. 'We are looking for the best bet to move in because there are no prospects for the party,' Prabhakar Reddy said.
He, however, pointed out that neither he nor his brother were worried over winning elections because people in their district would support them regardless of which party they were.
According to sources, PCC chief Botcha Satyanaryana, who is in Delhi, reportedly obtained clearance from the party leadership to issue a show-cause notice to Diwakar Reddy as to why action should not be taken. The notice is likely to be served anytime on him.
'I have not received any notice so far,' Diwakar Reddy said when asked but not ruled out the possibility of deserting the party. 'I want to remain in the Congress. But Botcha is necking me out. What can I do?' he asked. When pressed for his next step, he said he has not yet decided.
'If I am in Hyderabad, I will come to CLP every day. I can tell you only this much about what I intend to do,' he said.
'YSRC is the only party which is fighting sincerely to keep the state united,' he said indicating that he might prefer that for his future career in public life but for public consumption he said he always looked straight and it was not in his blood to look sideways.
Sources, however, said that it is more or less certain that Diwakar Reddy will get into Jagan's bandwagon sooner than later since his future in the Congress is sealed.
With the party having been washed out in Seemandhra after its T decision, Diwakar Reddy tried his best to ensure formation of Rayala Telangana as it opens up an opportunity for him to become the chief minister of the new state.
With Congress chief Sonia Gandhi striking down the proposal, he is back to square one and realising that the game is over, he is preparing to join the YSRC.
