He also read out a letter by the Maoists, which had arrived in the name of Maoist Party Central Region Bureau secretary Anand. The letter alleged a government conspiracy in the accident. As Bhoomaiah was fighting against the neo-liberal and global policies of the government, he was eliminated, the letter alleged.
Bhoomaiah hailed from the teaching community and had worked in various organisations. He was a part of the Radical Students Union (RSU) during his B Ed days in Jammikunta and played a key role in expansion of the Naxalite movement during its peak.
