Naidu demands probe into number plates contract HYDERABAD: Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu has urged chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to order a probe into the high security number plates contract.
In a letter to the chief minister on Friday, Naidu said there were allegations of corruption and irregularities in finalising the agencies for the supply of high security number plates.
To clear the air, the chief minister should get the matter probed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) or vigilance and enforcement officials, he said.
The comments of then managing director of APSRTC, which is a nodal agency for the new number plates, and the note of the then chief secretary, were not taken into cognizance before giving contract to the controversial consortium led by Ustav Safety Systems in collaboration with Link Point Infrastructure, he alleged.
It is learnt the same consortium supplied high security number plates at `68.91 each in Delhi, while it is charging `208 here.
