Seemandhra MPs call on President Hyderabad, Dec 29 (INN): The Congress MPs from Seemandhra region called on President of India Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Nilayam here on Sunday.
The MPs - Harsha Kumar, Lagadapati Rajagopal, Rayapati Sambasiva Rao, V Arun Kumar and Sabbam Hari met the President with regard to the division of Andhra Pradesh. Speaking to media persons later, Lagadapati said that the MPs have sought the intervention of the President to stop the proposed division of the State. He said that injustice was being done to the Seemandhra region by bifurcating the State.
Lagadapati said that the process adopted for bifurcation of the State was unconstitutional and therefore, the intervention of the President was sought to stop it.
