Naidu describes himself a bullet

TIRUPATI: In what is perceived to be the launch of TDP's 2014 election campaign, party chief N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday tried to cut into the flesh of the opposition parties and went to the extent of terming Congress and YSRC as Anacondas which are on the loose to harm people.

'These Anacondas should not be voted to power. They have to be contained. It is you who should be the driving force behind me, and if you support, I will go like a bullet to make India a corruption-free nation with the spirit of NT Rama Rao and the blessings of Lord Venkateswara,' he said. He was addressing the party's Praja Garjana meeting held in Nehru stadium here.

Throughout his speech, Naidu tried to strike an emotional chord with the impressive gathering by recollecting his association with Tirupati and asking the audience to join chorus with him by posing frequent questions on the need to dethrone the UPA government.

Narrating a story how a baby Anaconda raised by a family ate away the family and also the neighbours, Naidu referred to the Congress and its chief Sonia Gandhi as Anacondas on the prowl. 'YS Rajasekhara Reddy was one such Anaconda and now his son (Jagan Mohan Reddy) is a baby Anaconda,' he said.

Naidu also tried to tell the people about his association with his father-in-law the late NT Rama Rao and desribed him as 'yuga purushudu'. Listing out the various schemes that he had initiated, Naidu said all the proposed schemes of the Aam Aadmi Party and Gujarat CM Narendra Modi had already been implemented by him.

Asking the people to support him to work as a bullet, he said he wanted the people to be like 'Bobbili Puli' and 'Major Chandrakanth' (title roles played by NTR).

Naidu's marathon speech was greeted with whistles and claps by the audience, but the gathering was smaller compared to the plans of the party to mobilise nearly two lakh people.

Naidu was harsh particularly against Jagan Mohan Reddy. 'I do not hail from a family of a rowdy. I won't resort to any violence. I am a person who wants to see that there is no police station or a court. I want dharma and justice to prevail. Had any of my relatives benefited because of my power?' he asked, (referring to the YSRC chief).

On Jagan spending 16 months in prison, Naidu questioned, 'Will you ever speak to a pickpocket?' Naidu asked each and every person to become an Anna Hazare and fight against coruption. '2014 elections will be a matter of life and death. It is a Kurusketra war. Kauravas should not win,' he said.

Naidu listed out various programmes that he would initiate if he is voted to power. The promises include making Tirupati an IT hub.

Several party leaders like Chittoor MP N Siva Prasad, party district incharge Kodela Siva Prasada Rao, party legislators from the district Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu and Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy, leader Yanamala Ramakrishnudu participated.

Highlighting the irregularities in the TTD administration, Naidu said his father-in-law had started several schemes like Annadanam. 'I continued the same and started the Pranadanam scheme. It was after I launched the scheme, the attempt on my life took place at Alipiri,' he said.

In an indirect reference to the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy, Naidu said the person who had tried to usurp two mountains of Lord Venkateswara paid for it, while himself was saved by the grace of the Lord from the blast at Alipiri.

'These people have not even spared the ornaments given to the Lord by Sri Krishna Devaraya and the original jewellery was replaced by fakes,' Naidu said.

MP Siva Prasad turns 'Aparichitudu'

Tirupati: Chittoor MP N Siva Prasad stole the show with his antics once again during the TDP's Praja Garjana. Raising the Samaikyandhra slogan, Siva Prasad sung a parody of a famous Telugu song 'Bale Manchi Chaouka Beramu' to enlighten the audience on how Sonia Gandhi is splitting the state and creating differences between the people of the two regions.

Even as people were seen applauding his song, Siva Prasad suddenly changed his attire into 'Aparichitudu' (a movie character) and delivered the dialogues of the lead actor to criticise how Sonia was dividing the state. He concluded by announcing 'Yama Lokam Lo Niku Kumbi Pakam' as Sonia's punishment.
