'Hyderabad will develop rapidly with ITIR' HYDERABAD: Information technology minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah has that with the central government giving approval for the Information Technology Industrial Corridor (ITIR) in Hyderabad, more IT companies will be set up in an extent of 50,000 acres in and around Greater Hyderabad.
Speaking to reporters at the Secretariat here on Tuesday, Lakshmaiah said that the surrounding villages of Hyderabad too would witness fast development with the establishment of ITIR.
The minister also disclosed that that the central government sanctioned funds for development of optical fibre cable system in the state.
He called upon the people of Telangana to celebrate the new year as 'Telangana nama samvatsaram' (year of Telangana). He said that as the long-cherished dream of people for a separate Telangana state was going to be realised in the new year, it should be celebrated as 'Telangana Year'.
Though some political parties were trying to create confusion, the Telangana bill would be adopted by Parliament, he hoped.
