Naidu heckles KCR's cultivation HYDERABAD: Ridiculing TRS president K Chandrasekhara Rao' claim that he is getting a revenue of Rs 1 crore per acre from growing colour capsicums in his field, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu has termed it a cock and bull story.
'Agriculture across the world is under stress. If one gets back what one has invested, that itself is an achievement these days. At the most, a farmer can get a little more than what he invests but getting Rs 1 crore per acre per annum on capsicum crop is unheard of,' he had said and wondered if KCR is trying to fool farmers.
Talking with reporters here, Naidu, who hails from an agriculturist's family, wondered whether KCR was trying to show his black money as income from agricultural operations so that he would not have to pay any tax.
Taking a dig at KCR's cowboy get-up, Naidu said, 'Let somebody give him a revolver. That would complete the cowboy ensemble.' 'KCR is growing vegetables of corruption in his land in Medak district. The income tax department and the Enforcement Directorate should investigate how he is making such huge and unbelievable money from farm operations.'
Naidu also wanted to know how KCR could give three acres to each Dalit family if Telangana state was formed and where he would find so much land. Even if he gave the land, how could he ensure that they would get Rs 1 crore per acre, he asked.
Claiming that people were fed up with corruption and inefficiency, the former chief minister said that if his party came to power, he would have all allegations of corruption against Congress rulers in the state investigated.
He said the parties which were corrupt to the core _ YSRC, TRS and Congress _ were working in perfect coordination, careful enough not to throw mud at each other but work silently as a team to plunder the state.
'Just the way the TDP had played a key role in formation of non-Congress governments at the Centre three out of four times, this time too it will play a similar role in ensuring that a government that is responsive to the needs of the people will be in the saddle.'
Asked if he would choose to contest a Lok Sabha seat this time, he laughed off the question asking the media persons as to when they had started deciding his career.
