Uday's death: Dasari blames biggies
Hyderabad: Actor Uday Kiran's death has sparked a wide range of controversy with many alleging that his career was cut short by top actors and producers to settle personal scores.
Many of Uday fans and Brahmin groups alleged that two communities - Kamma and Kapu which constitute a majority of Telugu film industry have not allowed artistes from other communities to grow in the industry.
These allegations gained momentum after no big stars came to pay their last respects to Uday's mortal remains. This also sparked a debate on several local TV channels.
But Telugu actor Srikanth who has been by the side of Uday since the actor's death rubbished the allegations saying no such reason was behind Uday's death.
He asserted that nobody can decide success or failure of an artiste in the industry. However, even before the rumours could die down, popular director Dasari Nayarana Rao fuelled speculation with his contradicting view.
He made a controversial statement saying some unknown powers played with Uday's life because of which the actor went into depression and could not come back.
While another actor Sivaji Raja, said if suicide is the solution he should have done it for 20 to 30 times now. "Cinema industry is a mirage. Everyone thinks there is everything in it which is not the truth.
Depression is common for actors. Movies release every Friday... while some actors taste success, other face defeat," another actor Sivaji Raja who came to pay his last respects to the departed soul at the Film Chamber, said.
A large number of fans and film biggies including Venkatesh, Ramanaidu, Dasari Narayana Rao and many others were seen before the body was taken to the ESI Erragadda Smashana Vatika for funeral sometime back.
