CM lays stone for Rs 350 crore Game Park HYDERABAD: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy laid the foundation stone for the prestigious Game Park at Rayadurg, near here, amidst protests by TRS workers. Speaking on the occasion, Kiran Kumar Reddy said the information and communication technology sector was performing consistently well.
'AP has emerged as a state that provides the right climate for the growth of IT, ITES, electronic hardware, and animation and gaming industry. The Game Park is part of the ITIR,' the chief minister said.
'AP having vast industry-ready talent pool, excellent and affordable physical and digital infrastructure and world class educational and research facilities, it will give a major fillip to local animation and gaming companies to compete in global markets,' the chief minister said.
IT minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah said, 'The state is poised to become a prominent destination for the animation and gaming industry globally. We are now in a position to push forward this emerging sector.'
Information Technology secretary Sanjay Jaju and others were present on the occasion.
First of its kind
The Game Park, which would create employment to 15,000 people and provide a built-up space of around 6 lakh square feet. The total project cost was `350 crore. The Game Park will provide gaming, animation, web design, online multi-player gaming facilities etc.
This was the first of its kind initiative in the country. The park, spread over 30 acres, will provide incubation and common facilities to animation and gaming companies. It provides the necessary environment and new opportunities, promoting Hyderabad as a media outsourcing hub.
