Girl's family attacks lover; his mother dies Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a man was brutally beaten up by the kin of his girlfriend while his mother, who was caught in the melee, died of heart attack at Vanasthalipuram here on Tuesday night.
According to reports, Narasimha Reddy, 30, who stays in Sri Sai Saptagiri apartments here, was in love with Sushma. He incurred the ire of the latter's family as she turned down the match finalised by her father Ramachandra Reddy who was against the love affair.
The girl had reportedly sent an SMS to Narasimha Reddy informing that she would not marry anyone else except him. Learning about the message, Ramachandra Reddy had allegedly engaged some persons to get the mobile phone from him.
They all resorted to physical attack on Narasimha in a bid to relieve him of his mobile phone. His mother K Radha, 54, who resisted, also came under the attack and later died due to heart attack.
According to inmates of the apartment, both the families have had cordial relations till recently but things went sour in the last two months. The girl's brother, who had justified the attack, said that Sushma's wedding was fixed with another boy and Narasimha was interfering in that alliance.
However, Narasimha pointed out that he did not force Sushma as she was 25 years old and was quite mature to take decisions. In fact, the couple was very much in love and he had text messages to prove the same.
A case has been registered against the offenders under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC. 'A manhunt has been launched to nab the offenders,' said P Gopala Krishna Murthy, Inspector of Vanasthalipuram Police Station.
