Rs. 10 lakh cash kept for daughter's marriage reduced to ashes Hyderabad: A scrap shop was completely gutted along with a steel trunk containing Rs 7 lakh in cash in a major fire accident at Raidurgam on Thursday.
According to sources, the fire broke out in the scrap shop near SBH Bank in Raidurgam around 4 pm on Thursday destroying the shop completely.
The fire brigade rushed to the spot but it was too late.
Nagamani, 64, the owner of the shop, preserved the cash for her daughter's marriage, said A Bala Koti, Inspector, Raidurgam police station. Every effort made by her neighbours and family members to console Nagamani failed as the devastating fire engulfed her dream of getting her daughter married.
'I had kept cash and gold in the box, as my daughter's marriage had been fixed. What will I do now? What will be my daughter's fate,' she cried with tears rolling down. Meanwhile, police registered a case and are investigating the cause of fire.
