Vallabhaneni Vamsi alleges murder plot by IG of Police HYDERABAD: Alleging that senior IPS officer PSR Anjaneyulu has hatched a plan to kill him, Vijayawada TDP leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan has met DGP B Prasada Rao and sought his intervention in the matter.
Subsequently, Vamsi lodged a complaint with Vijayawada police commissioner B Srinivasulu alleging that Anjaneyalu, presently posted as IGP, Greyhounds, has hatched a plan with surrendered Maoists and police to eliminate him.
'I have bonafide information and evidence regarding the plan. I have collected evidence that some surrendered Maoists and police met recently and discussed their plan to kill me,' said Vamsi. When Anjaneyulu was police commissioner of Vijayawada, he tried to harass him mentally by making false allegations to damage his political career, he said.
Vamsi said if the police fail to take action, he would file a petition in the High Court seeking action against Anjaneyulu.
DGP Prasada Rao said in a statement that Vamsi met him at his chambers and brought the issue to his notice, after which he told him to lodge a complaint with Vijayawada police.
On June 6, 2011, When Anjaneyulu was Vijayawada police commissioner, he landed in controversy after a television channel flashed SMSes purportedly sent by him to some women seeking sexual favours.
It was alleged that the officer had not only sent messages but also made phone calls to the women. This led to his transfer from Vijayawada.
