Prez unhappy with bifurcation process: Naidu HYDERABAD: Taking exception to the way the Centre was dividing Andhra Pradesh, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu alleged that Congress was doing it for the sake of seats.
Speaking after unfurling the national flag on the occasion of 65th Republic Day at NTR Trust Bhavan on Sunday, Naidu said even President Pranab Mukherjee was not so happy with the way the state was being divided. Still, the Centre was going ahead with the bifurcation process. 'Just to win a few seats in the ensuing general elections the Congress was spreading hatred among Telugu people,' he alleged.
Predicting Congress rout in the ensuing Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the state, the TDP chief said Congress will will also not be able form government at the Centre.
'If the country has to come out of the present economic crisis and the clutches of corruption, then the people should reject Congress and see that it never comes to power in future,' he asserted.
'If there is any party which could give good and clean administration, it is the TDP. In the past, it has proved that it can provide good governance and take the state on the path of develop. All the development that the state has seen was done during the TDP regime,' Naidu claimed.
'The ensuing general elections will be very crucial for the country's future. Hence, people should take a decision very carefully and elect those parties which can make the country corruption-free and take it to the next level,' he said.
The anti-people policies adopted by Congress-led UPA government had ruined the country and pushed it into an economic crisis, he alleged.
He accused Congress president Sonia Gandhi of shielding the corrupt and encouraging corruption. Describing Sonia as an 'anaconda' of corruption, he said she has institutionalised corruption and her people were looting the country.
