Scope for corrections in T bill: Digvijay Hyderabad : The All India Congress Committee secretary general Digvijay Singh said on Sunday that he had came to know that Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy had given notice to the Assembly Speaker seeking permission to move a Government resolution for the rejection of the AP State Reorganisation Bill 2013.
Speaking to the media after K Jana Reddy, a minister from the Telangana region, met him, Digvijay said the Business Advisory Committee led by the State Assembly Speaker would take a decision in this regard.
He said that there was nothing new in the Chief Minister's contention that there were mistakes in the Bill. He said there was scope for amendments if issues in the bill were against the provisions of the Constitution. He added that it was a good sign that more than 80 members of the Assembly participated in the debate on the Bill.
Speaking about the upcoming elections to vacant positions in the Rajya Sabha, Digvijay Singh said there were no specific guidelines for selection of candidates. 'Candidates would be selected keeping in view the interests of the State and the party,' he added.
Jana Reddy earlier took strong exception to the behaviour of Seemandhra leaders and said there was no scope for any Resolution on the Bill. The Assembly has to give its opinions on the Bill, he said.
He referred to the contention of Seemandhra leaders that Telangana would be at a loss if the State is divided, and asked why the same Seemandhra leaders were hanging on to Telangana.
