Kiran takes on Jairam Ramesh over his remarks HYDERABAD: Taking a dig at Union minister for rural development Jairam Ramesh's remarks that the Centre had sent the draft T bill to the state Assembly as per Constitutional norms, chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy wanted to know whether Jairam Ramesh made those remarks on behalf of the Centre. Kiran Reddy further said, 'If the draft T-bill and the T-bill are one and the same, let the Centre say the same in writing.'
In an informal chat with scribes on the Assembly premises here on Monday, Kiran Reddy made it clear that the Assembly could express its views only if the bill is in its 'final form'.
'If the Bill doesn't contain all relevant information such as statement of objectives and financial statement, along with background information, on what issue will we express our views?' he questioned.
Reiterating his remarks that the present T-bill, being debated by the AP Assembly, is not valid as it is only a draft bill, Kiran Reddy said, 'The Centre has to send the final bill, which is supposed to be introduced in Parliament, to the Assembly seeking its views.'
Meanwhile, Union HRD minister MM Pallam Raju has thrown his weight behind Kiran Reddy's decision to move a resolution in the Assembly rejecting the T-bill. He said Kiran Reddy's decision was right.
'There are several flaws in the T-bill. Though we took these defects in the bill to the notice our party high command, they have simply ignored them. We (Seemandhra lawmakers) are making all efforts to stall the bill in Parliament,' he said.
