YSRCP Second Plenary on Feb 1, 2
Hyderabad, January 28: The second plenary session of YSR Congress Party would be held at Idupulapaya in YSR Kadapa district on February 1 and 2 during which organisational elections including that of the President would be held.
'The two-day session would take stock of the situation and review the party activities during the year. The plenary meeting will be attended by over 9,000 members from all over the state and the nominations for the post of the President will be held on the first day and voting, if necessary, will be held on the second day,' Party senior leader Umareddy Venkateswarlu who is also the Returning Officer told reporters here on Tuesday.
The Central Governing Council (CGC) of the Party will meet on the first day to finalise the election schedule for the organisational polls.
Party Honorary President YS Vijayamma would give the inaugural address and Sharmila, who undertook Maro Praja Prasthanam padayatra, would also speak at the Plenary and there would be Presidential address on the concluding day, he said. The Plenary would first pay tributes to YSR and all those members who died during the past one year.
When asked about the State Reorganisation Bill, he said, 'YSR Congress has been very consistent that it stands for a united state. It was our Party MPs and MLAs who first resigned in protest when the decision on division was taken.
In the Assembly our party members were vociferously insisting on a resolution and sending back the Bill as it is against the interests of the majority of the people but they were suspended from the House for expressing their views.
Neither the Chief Minister nor the Leader of Opposition attend the BAC and express their opinion while YSR Congress has been a strong votary for a united state.
'Now Kiran Kumar Reddy suddenly changes his mind and proposes to send the Bill back and N Chandrababu Naidu seconds it and people are watching their topsy-turvy behaviour in the House,' he said.
On Rajya Sabha elections, he said that the Party has decided not to take part in the elections as it does not have the required number of 40 to field a candidate and it will not support any candidate of other parties.
