Daggubati photos on TDP flexis causes flutter Ongole: `Welcome back to home' echoed several flexis which appeared at various places in the Paruchuru Assembly constituency welcoming the local MLA, Daggubati Venkateswara Rao.
However, they caused commotion throughout the district as the flexis contained the photographs of NTR and Chandrababu Naidu along with Daggubati Venkateswara Rao.
It may be recalled that rumours of Daggubati returning to the fold of Telugu Desam party have been making rounds for quite some time. The flexis have also welcomed Chandrababu Naidu.
However, TDP activists have removed the flexis at Paruchuru, Marturu, Yaddhanapudi and Yanamadala villages. The flexis were burnt down at Degarlamudi village. The activists of Congress and TDP had almost come to blows when the flexis were being removed.
TDP leaders, Ravi Ramanaiah Chowdary, Kolla Subhash Babu, Agnigundala Venkata Krishna Rao in a statement said that the flexis were set up to deflate the influence of TDP leader Eluri Sambasiva Rao. The flexis were aimed at to confuse the TDP workers, they alleged.
Meanwhile, Congress leaders Poluri Siva Reddy, Karumuri Srinivasa Rao, Kota Hariprasad and others talking to newsmen at R&B Guesthouse said that everyone had a right to set up flexis and it was not proper to remove them.
They strongly condemned the removal of flexis in which the photograph of their leader was printed. They lodged a complaint with the police against the removal of flexis.
