Mega tourism project for Papikondalu RAJAHMUNDRY: The Union Tourism Ministry has sanctioned an amount of `28.37 crore to the proposed Konaseema-Papikondalu-Bhadrachalam mega tourism circuit, according to official sources.
As a part of the project, floating jetties with gangways, a reception centre in an area of 2,000 sq.ft, a children's park, two air-conditioned house-boats with three bed-rooms each in river Godavari, 10 eco-friendly tents for accomodation, two banana boats and several other facilities would be provided.
Tourism hubs would come up at Dindi, Kotipalli, Vodalarevu and Gogullanka. Out of the total amount of `28.37 crore, an amount of `1.15 crore was sanctioned to Gandipochamma temple, `3.31 crore was sanctioned to Purushottapatnam, `1.9 crore to Devipatnam, `8.8 crore to Rampachodavaram and `1.4 crore to Maredumilli in the Agency area.
Similarly, `3.85 crore was sanctioned to Dindi, `1.41 crore to Sivakodulanka, `3.33 crore to the famous pilgrim centre at Antervedi, `2.17 crore to Kotipalli, `2.30 crore to Draksharama, `69 lakh to Bouddakshetram Adurru, `4.10 crore to Gogullanka, `69 lakh to Yedurlanka and `1.61 crore to Vodalarevu villages.
