Anam reads out 32-page speech in 18 minutes Hyderabad, Feb 10 (INN): It took about 18 minutes for Finance Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy to read out 32-page speech of Vote-On-Account Budget in the Andhra Pradesh State Legislative Assembly.
As soon as the House met at 10.08 AM on Monday, the legislators from Telangana started raising Jai Telangana slogans. Amid slogan shouting, Speaker Nadendla Manohar asked the Finance Minister to begin the Vote-On-Account speech.
The TRS legislators, who were wearing black badges in protest against passing of resolution against Telangana Bill in last session, trooped into the well. The Telangana TDP MLAs too rushed to the Speaker's podium.
Anam continued his speech despite slogan shouting. Meanwhile, TRS MLAs, minister Prasad Kumar, Government Chief Whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy, Govt Whip Anil and other Congress MLAs including Dr P Shankar Rao walked out of the Assembly.
At about 10.20 AM, the minister finished his speech and the House was adjourned till Wednesday.
