Lagadapati was attacked for spraying pepper: Nama HYDERABAD: TDP MP Nama Nageswara Rao has said that Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal was attacked by other members when he used pepper spray in the Lok Sabha.
Speaking to mediapersons here at the TDLP office here, Nama refuted allegations of Lagadapati that he and other MPs from Telangana region had tried to attack him and that was the reason for his 'act of self-defence using pepper spray.
He, however, admitted that he might have hit the MP during the chaos after Lagadapati used his pepper spray on every one. ''There were several MPs, who had landed a punch or two on them, when they suffered due to the pepper spray,'' he said.
Nama said Lagadapati's act was intentional and pre-meditated one. ''Was he so sure that some one would attack him inside the House during discussion that he had to bring along a pepper spray and use it as a weapon,' he asked. But was evasive when asked about whether he had hit his own party MP Modugula Venugopal.
He said that they support the aspirations of Telangana people and his will be the first vote, when the T-bill is put for voting. ''I am not against the people of Seemandhra.
In fact, it was me and Ramesh Rathod, who had responded first when Konakalla Narayana had collapsed with chest pain. We rushed him to Rammanohar Lohia hospital,'' he said. TDP leader was confident of BJP support and said they will keep their word on the T-issue.
Nama warned TRS of severe consequences if it continues its criticism of NTR and vandalising his statues. 'Telangana people will not forgive you, for they too respect and adore NTR. We can retaliate many times over, but we are maintaing restraint. Don't test our patience,' he warned the TRS leaders.
TDP MLA Errabelli Dayakar Rao described the incident as Congress drama and demanded Congress MPs Lagadapati Rajagopal and Kavuri Sambasiva Rao should be exiled from the country.
Lashing out at TRS leaders for their recent remarks on NTR and NTR Trust Bhavan, he demanded TRS leadership to make a public disclosure of KCR and his son's secret discussions with AICC president Sonia Gandhi.
