CM inaugurates Guntur's Inner Ring Road Hyderabad, Feb 16 (INN): Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy formally inaugurated Rs 29 crore Mahatma Gandhi Inner Ring Road, Phase-I and II, Guntur (Vijayawada, Guntur, Tenali, Mangalagiri Urban Development Authority's - VGTMUDA road) at Camp Office, here this afternoon.
The Chief Minister directed to complete the remaining phases of the road at the earliest. The VGTMUDA has taken up the development of 80 feet wide Inner Ring Road to Guntur City in phased manner.
First and second phases of this road were completed with an estimated cost of Rs.29.08 crores, with a length of 6.34 KMs with four-lane carriage way, Central median.
The Inner Ring Road starts from Old NH-5 at Autonagar and passes through the villages of Agathavarappadu, Gorantla, Pedapalakaluru, Turakapalem, Nallapadu, and joins NH-5 at Ankireddypalem village. The completed 1st and 2nd phases is the four-lane inner ring road connecting from old NH-5 near Autonagar and JKC College Road.
By the completion of this road, traffic congestion will ease in the core city of Guntur, diversion of the traffic from west and north side parts of the city without entering the city, create inter linkages among surrounding villages and beneficial for the development of peripheral areas.
VGTMUDA Chairman M Srinivasa Reddy, Ministers Pithani Satyanarayana, Kasu Venkata Krishna Reddy, MLC Ilapuram Venkayya, Special Officer Usha Kumari and other officials and non-officials were also present.
