Naidu seeks all-party meet on AP bifurcation
HYDERABAD: TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, who is lobbying against the T-bill with the BJP leaders, said in the interest of the people of Andhra Pradesh, there is no harm if the Telangana issue is postponed by a few days. He demanded that an all-party meet be called to resolve the issue amicably.
The TDP chief, after meeting BJP top leaders in Delhi, said there is a need for nation-wide debate on the division Andhra Pradesh. 'There is need for discussing the issue throughly and take everyone's opinion into consideration. Let the government call a meeting of all stakeholders,' he said.
Speaking to reporters in Delhi, Naidu said his party wants the issue discussed thoroughly before taking a decision on bifurcation.
Finding fault with the Group of Ministers (GoM) for not consulting the stakeholders, he asked, 'How can five people take a unilateral decision on state bifurcation without addressing the concerns of the people of all the regions?' He said he would continue to lobby against bifurcation.
'Sonia was sowing the 'seeds of poison' in Andhra Pradesh. She had lost the right to continue as Congress president,' he said.
Accusing YSR Congress of colluding with Congress and TRS for the division of state, Naidu said YSRC, in the disguise of Samikyandhra, was helping Congress to divide the state. He said the TDP was the only party which is able to discuss the bifurcation issue with leaders of both the region.
