No hope of averting split: Raghuveera ANANTAPUR: Revenue minister N Raghuveera Reddy has said that it is not possible to stall the state bifurcation process even by the MPs of Seemandhra region.
Stating that the separate Telangana issue had gone beyond the hands, Raghuveera Reddy, who spoke after releasing the media diary-2014 at the Hindupur press club said even the MPs from the region are not in a position to stop the bifurcation.
'All the leaders, including chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, and chief of all parties in the state, should meet the Prime Minister and tell him that they have done wrong in giving letters in support of division of state. All the parties should take back the letters given to stop state division,'' he said.
The minister, however, appreciated the efforts of the MPs from the region to stop the division of state. 'Only a handful of the 15 MPs are fighting it out in Parliament which has over 500 MPs from all over the country,'' he said.
Raghuveera Reddy said Anantapur district would be the worst effect in case of 9division. 'It will suffer severe drought conditions, if Telangana is separated,'' he said. Raghuveera Reddy said the government was taking up various schemes for the development of the district.
